“You saved me with all your love”

3 years ago my dad survived a brain aneurysm rupture. It’s been a long, very long road with months of coma, hospitals and rehabilitation. I’ve NEVER lost faith although at the beginning and for months doctors were just telling us terrible things. Very, very bad news everyday.

One day I’d like to do something special to connect with the people facing the same situation ’cause I lived that… and still am living it. When the accident happened, I decided to never lose hope and be strong whatever the doctors would say. I found a strength inside me I never knew I had. Maybe sometimes it was denial but it helped me focus to be there for my dad for the long haul.

I love my dad more than anything. He is a real sunshine and when I look at him I always see this kid on the picture. Look at those eyes!

Taking care of your loved ones can make a change. Be there for them and love them

Charles ❤

Charles Aznavour left us this week. Anyone who grew up in France knows his songs. They are a huge heritage for my country. What strikes me the most when I think of this artist and his career is how modern, smart, sensitive and open-minded he was. In 1972 he wrote “Comme ils disent”, one of my favorite Aznavour songs. It describes a drag queen’s life and his homosexuality. The lyrics are just beautiful. Writing such a song back then shows what kind of man and artist Charles was. ❤

“J’habite seul avec maman
Dans un très vieil appartement rue Sarasate
J’ai pour me tenir compagnie

Adventure has a name

Quick portrait of Indiana. New sketchbooks tend to excite me. But this one even more ’cause it inspires me and it is so small I can bring it with me everywhere. I practice a lot more than I used to a few years ago when I started my blog. It’s like I need to draw pretty much everyday to feel good. So the next step now is to find out what to do in order to work as an artist. Do you guys have some pieces of advice? Many people wanna order my portraits and I am going to do more commissions but am too scared to start a business online. I kinda never sold my paintings so I think it’s a good start to do commissions for people in my area, don’t you think?

Happy New Year to everyone. I guess it’s not too late…

This year my resolutions are to focus on the positive ONLY and find the time to dedicate myself to what I love to do : painting, drawing and reading books! And also learning new things. Spending less time on the social networks ’cause seriously it is most of the time completely useless. Even though my job – which is not my dream job at all – takes me A LOT of time, I wanna find the energy to do all these things that make me feel alive.

I am a big fan of Pawn Stars. I watch it very often with my dad ’cause we are history lovers. I almost finished my series (which consists of 4 portraits – the main ‘characters’). Here is Rick! I love how these guys are so cool and so clever at the same time! They always impress me so much.
